Choosing a hotel for your vacation is crucial to getting the most out of your trip. There are several criteria for choosing the best hotel. One of them is going to be decided by your wallet. Another is going to be decided by what you want to do while in HCMC.
Here are three choices which allow you to enjoy your time.
Windsor Plaza Hotel
If you want luxury accommodations, this is one of the best five star hotels in the city. It has most of the amenities that these luxury hotels offer with a few extras on the side. If you’re driving around the city, it has a car park so you have a place to put your rental car. There is also a rooftop swimming pool, allowing for a swim with a view.
One of the unique things about this hotel is that it has child oriented entertainment. There is a large game room that can keep them busy for hours. The hotel also features in-house babysitting. That can be important if mom and dad (or grandma and grandpa) want to go out in the evening.

Hotel Continental Saigon
This hotel is mid-priced but excellent in its category. One of the reasons it is considered so is the luxury restaurant, Le Bourgeois. This restaurant offers favorite European dishes and a fantastic view of both the city and the hotel courtyard. An added touch is the live piano and/or violin music playing in the background.
This hotel is located near many of the attractions of HCMC. If you would like to visit the opera house, it is within a few steps of the front entrance to the hotel. Not much further away are the General Post Office and the Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon. Helpful staff on the twenty four hour reception desk can help you find these sights and many more.

City Backpackers Hostel
There are quite a few hostels in HCMC for backpackers. Some of them are very basic and others offer amenities that will make your stay feel like a refreshing break from backpacking. Which you choose depends on how basic you want it to be and to a degree, whether or not children are along on the trip.
The one I selected as best is City Backpackers Hostel, located in downtown HCMC. While you have access to a shared kitchen, the hostel also has a restaurant. Street food venders are not far away and you are right next to the Central Market. There are also laundry facilities. This hostel is not adults only, so if you have kids along on the trip, it will be fine.
